TORRENT: A fast and irregular stream, of short length, more or less dry between violent and sudden floods. Abundance of something that seems to spread: A torrent of light.

A seasoned composer known for her ardor and sensitivity; Viviane plunges us into the heart of her piano universe. Alone at the piano, in the neoclassical style, inspired by the force of the elements, Le piano et le torrent is a vibrant and sensitive story in which Viviane presents her compositions from her upcoming album of the same title. Composed at the rate of one piece per day in May 2021, Le piano et le torrent explores our inner torrents, those that capsize us, carry us away, transform us.

To the torrent are added pieces from her album Les filles montagnes, a series of short pieces through which Viviane suggests the tragedy of Polytechnique, in a tribute of light and shadow.

In a delicate staging and lighting by artistic director Katia Gagné (Marie Chouinard, Cirque du Soleil, Carbone 14), Le piano et le torrent is an upright piano at the center of a stage, a generous and inspired pianist who proposes a powerful and gentle incursion into the sinuous currents of our lives.
