Louis Bernier, pianist
Louis Bernier, originally and now once again a resident of Carleton-sur-Mer, showed his musical talent from an early age: as a student at the Carleton convent, he was a multiple prizewinner at the Festival de musique de Québec.

After studying at the École Vincent D'Indy in Montreal, he obtained a bachelor's degree in piano performance, and for 45 years pursued a career as accompanist and/or musical director for a number of artists, including Joe Bocan, Isabelle Boulay, Diane Dufresne and Linda Lemay. He has also collaborated in artistic training and dissemination activities.

At the same time, he also exercised his talents as a composer, particularly in Carleton-sur-Mer, for the Théâtre À tour de rôle, as well as for television, in children's programs (Le monde de Martin and Salut Martin). He has also composed numerous pieces of music for various children's theater companies.

Louis Bernier has also recorded his music on CD, and it is from these musical creations that he will draw the program for the concert he will present in Carleton-sur-Mer, on the occasion of the Journées de la Culture, on Sunday, October 1st, at 1:00 pm, at the Quai des Arts Hydro-Québec studio.

The concert is presented free of charge by the Ville de Carleton-sur-Mer, in collaboration with the Centre JMC de la Baie-des-Chaleurs, which is launching a year-long celebration of its twentieth anniversary.
