Notes from the frontHello dear music lovers, Here is an invitation from the Jeunesses Musicales Canada – Chaleur Bay Chapter for choristers, singers, soloists, and voice teachers to register for a singing workshop or a masterclass on Monday, February 9, 2026. We will be welcoming soprano Mathilde Duval-Laplante on Sunday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Quai des arts, in collaboration with Maximum 90. She will be performing Les carnets du front with pianist Rosemarie Duval-Laplante and pianist Jean-Michel Dubé. On this occasion, she is offering to meet with singers and choristers who wish to improve their vocal skills. You may choose between two options: • A masterclass on Monday, February 9 at the Quai des arts, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the concert hall. Several participants have already signed up, and it promises to be a unique experience not to be missed. Each participant is invited to present a piece of about two minutes, followed by a public lesson of approximately twenty minutes with our soprano. Anyone interested in attending as an audience member is welcome to come; admission is free. • The “Reveal Your Voice” singing workshop, also offered on Monday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the rehearsal room at the Quai des arts. This workshop is open to anyone wishing to learn or improve their singing. A series of playful activities focused on technique, breathing, and posture will be presented.
